Cat Cafe Assistant Manager

We are looking for a cat-passionate, customer service-oriented Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations at our cat cafe. As the Assistant Manager, you will supervise the operational and organizational standards of the cat cafe. Your duties will include ensuring staff give great customer service, undertaking administrative tasks, monitoring inventory levels, and acting as key point of contact with our rescue partners' team. You will act in a managerial role if the owner is out of office or unavailable. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to open/close facility and clean the facility as needed . They must also be willing and able to take on any role for the cashier or volunteers as needed - this includes lots of cleaning.
The ideal candidate must be able to embody the company mission and founding principles, excel in creating a customer friendly environment, while efficiently managing a cat colony. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:

Ensure cat care is maintained at all times

Responsible for managing the daily activities in the cat café

Communicate effectively with rescue partners on drop offs, adoptions, sick cats
-
Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of guest experience

Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner

Lead and coach staff through performance issues
-
Responsible for training, evaluation, mentoring, overseeing and assessment of employees
-
Help with scheduling both staff and volunteers
-
Monitor inventory levels and report to owner any new items to order
-
Develop and arrange promotional material and in-store displays
-
Create business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic to increase adoption conversions

Ensure that the cafe facility is in tip top shape and conducive enough to welcome customers

Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs.

Help to manage social media and events

Handles any other duty as assigned by the cat café owner/Manager

Preferred:

A minimum of 1 year experience working in a retail environment in a managerial role

A minimum of 1 year experience working with rescue animals

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred

Cashier/Cat Bouncer
Position Summary:
We are looking for energetic cat loving people to provide memorable experiences for our guests by providing exceptional front of house service. This position will be a cashier, handling all transactions for the cafe. In addition, this position will also have to assist with other day to day operations, such as the cat lounge, cleaning cat messes, medical checks, etc. Must be comfortable cleaning litter boxes & messes & working weekends.

Those with professional previous animal experience (ie working with rescue or foster animals) will be prioritized. If you are unable to work weekends, summers & holidays please do not apply.

Responsibilities:

Greeting customers with a positive attitude, promptly attends to customers in a friendly and professional manner, and delivering excellent service to ensure high levels of guest experience

Check-in customers with reservations & take walk in reservations

Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner

Responsible for carrying out all casual jobs in the cafe

Responsible for washing any dishes

Cleans cafe, kitchen and storage as needed

Responsible for keeping the coffee and food items stocked and maintained

Monitor inventory levels and report to owner any new items to order

Responsible for keeping both bathroom facilities stocked and maintained

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining back of the house (kitchen, employee restroom)

Manages all point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently.Handles all financial transactions for the organization

Promptly attends to customers in a friendly and professional manner

Ensures that un-occupied tables are always set and ready for customers

Monitor the well-being of cats, ensure they are comfortable and healthy, and assist with their daily care.

Educate guests on cafe rules and enforce them professionally to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for both guests and catsBe knowledgeable about our rules & enforcing those rules with guests if they are misbehaving

Responsible for keeping cat lounge cleaned, ensuring all litter boxes are clean and odor-free throughout shifts, feeding/caring for cat residence, documenting cat health/medical checks and administering meds (training will be provided for medication administration), if necessary

Know each residents personality and helping to facilitate adoptions

Handles any other duty as assigned by the cat café owner/Manager or Assistant Manager

Requirements:

Prior experience in customer service
Comfortable conducting adoptions and gauging appropriate fit
Must be comfortable cleaning litter boxes
Strong customer relationship skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills, including retail POS, SLACK type communication systems, and Google Docs

Must be able to carry out physical expectations of the job including standing for long periods and lifting 50 pounds.
This will be a very part time position - hours may vary from 3-10 hours/week or every other week - MUST work weekends (Saturday & Sunday), summer & holidays
